in the new Jegs catalogs theres a set of the new very low resistance plug wires available for our cars and was wondering if anyones tried them? i still have an old set of the original solid copper wire cores from Kenne bell and definately want to put some newer ones in. just curious TIA:D

I had them for a week on my last GN before I totalled it. Good wires, no complaints. I didn't really go WOT on them much before I lost them.

I priced out MSD plug wires at a local Speed Shop in Colorado Springs. You got to support the Local Guys or they may not be there next time. He said they would have to order the wires for the turbo six, then I asked how about a set for a BB Chevy HEI with straight ends and he said I have those in stock ($42.00+-). You then can cut them to fit as MSD has come a long way with their crimping tool they include in the set. You also get two extra wires for when the front one by the turbo burns on the down pipe. I also bought some thermal heat sleeves for the passenger side.

Thanks,
Lance

If you are asking about the custom fit T-R wires from MSD, we have used many sets of them for years. In my opinion, the best wire for the $$, and a nice fit.

They cost about twice as much as "regular" spark plug wires but last 3-4 times longer. Never had an end pull off like the cheaper wires.

The MSD part no. is 31869 and some of the board vendors like Ramchargers carry them.

I just installed a new set of MSD wires and they are much better than the 10.5 Magnecore wires I had. The end pulled off of 2 of them and they were only on the car for 3 weeks. The car is running great with them so I have no complaints.

I only ran MSD wires and coil packs(DFI Setup) on my GT and didn't have a problems the 3 years the parts were on.

To give a testimonial on how long they last, I have the ORIGINAL set of wires still on my car. When I say original I mean that I took my car to MSD and they measured and created the part number for the wires using my car. That was at least 4 years ago. They still look great and I have never had a problem with them. Money well spent.

As a reference, here is the part numbers for all MSD wire colors available for the TR

Blue 3186
Red 31869
Black 31863

On all of our wire sets the blue number is the base number. For the red a 9 is added to the end and for the black substitute a 3.

Been using them for years...

I agree with Nick. GREAT BANG for the BUCK.

MSD Stuff??

What other things does MSD make that would be a good add on/change to do with these wires... I like to have a good spark!!
