I like the idea of a dual stage so I can begin one nozzle at 12-15psi and then the second nozzle at 18-20 psi. I feel that it would give you the best of both worlds. Not to much alky at lower boost level and enough at the ultimate boost level.

That's what diy is all about. Make any modification that works and makes sense to you. Sureflo pump can supply a lot of stages although single stage can take you to 11s. ;)

All you should need is a Y block and a solenoid perhaps with a second hobbs switch to trigger it.

Oh and a second nozzle and line. :)

Am currently using a dual stage, with 2 pressure switches and solenoids. Works fine..but am thinking to go back to the single stage for simplicity. Just means I won't have much part throttle range - I'm either not boosting or full boosting! :D

DMan, So are you saying I should just do a single?

Red Regal T, I am moving back to the Bay area in next couple of months. I have to sell the house first. I will have to do the Sat night BK cruises when I get there.

ahhh..I'd say if you're installing your first DIY kit, then go single. Less hassle. Get familiar with it. You might find you're happy with it.

Its true that a dual, or multistage system should give you better driveability at part boost because you're not flooding the engine with a flowrate designed for WOT.

Nevertheless, a second stage is an easy mod to do down the road.

Sorry things didn't work out for you out there, but we'll be happy to have you back. We'll still be doing the Largo thing when you get here. ;)

On the alky, as stated above, you can always go to a dual stage if you feel you need it. I run a single with activation at about 9lbs. I don't have any driveability problems but everybody is different. I'm mainly concerned about knock at high load and RPM. The important thing is to get a kit on your car and then go from there. I never had any tuning problems from the gitgo with my DIY kit. Less alky at lower levels and then more at higher boost is OK if you want to go to the trouble, but boost comes up so fast there usually isn't a need for it. IMO more stuff just confuses the issue, especially if you're installing alky for the first time. ??? ;)

After reading this post, I just looked over and realized where you're from. I used to live in Clearwater off of Gulf to Bay Blvd. Damn I miss it there. Shame I can't go back.. I'd never leave.:)
