I am getting a speedometer modified and I need to add the longer odometer push reset in order to clear the glass in the GNX type dash. Can anyone give me the measurement of the odometer reset button?

I've got VDO gauges mounted in a GNX reproduction dash in my car. My VDO speedometer is an older mechanical style which was originally in an AVC GNX style dash set up. Unfortunately my car is in storeage 1 hour away, so I can't run out to the garage and have a look for you.

I do know that the short little reset stalk on the speeodometer is very short and will not come close to your glass. The kit came with a short extension with knurled end and set screw that attached to the VDO re-set button.

If you contact North Hollywood Speedo & Clock in LA, they can send you a replacement re-set . However, I doubt that the stock one made originally for the gauge will reach your instrument glass either.

I will try to dig up a picture that may show you what mine looked like.

I just happen to have my broken mechanical vdo speedo out right now next to my tape measure and neither are supposed to be on the computer desk according to my wife, but...to answer your question, the stalk is exactly 2" long. I have the AVC GNX style dash.

I had my gauges on my computer desk and my speedo in my night table too. Is the 2" from the face of the gauge or from the glass on the gauge?

The 2" is from the base of the stalk to the tip. It is enough to protrude past the plastic faceplate of the AVC dash.
