The Question is: New Stock valve bodies are hard to find. very Expensive.

Should I go with a stock rebuilt auto valve body or would it be better to have a "reverse" manual valve body that I would have to shift manually into every gear?

What are the advantages with the manual one over the auto one? :p

our manual auomatic valve body works very well .see url below or call us 718 784 4256

I like your site. I was wondering if you think I should go with the manual automatic valve body or just go with a stronger trany because I am planning on running in the 6.5 range for the 1/8 mile. I have a LT 70 turbo, 83# injectors, 390 gears. Lots of engine work too.

I also have a front mount intercooler. Forged pistions, c&c ported iron head and intake. Any thing else you need to know. Hp around 700 expect to run 6.5 in the 1/8.

the manual / automatic is your best bet if you dont want to transbrake the car.it becomes full manual when placed in low and wont shift until you move the lever.

AOD

Check out Lentech-they have a valvebody that has 1/2/3 and O/D is a switch instead of the stock 1/3/OD.

Chris 718, can your manual automatic valve body be installed into a th325-4l / BJ code turbo Riviera trans? and would that be reliable in a street driven car? Considering the following, installing th325-4l trans with 87 GN engine, possibly with two small turbos (faster spool up) into a mid engine configuration body, am looking to use car driving similar to a Porsche 911 with a tiptronic (automatic) trans. Since turbo Buicks don't really work with manual transmissions well , and the automatic transaxles out there will not hold up to the Buick except th3254l or th425, that is the trans I am going to use. While the car will be tested on dragstip for 1/4 mile time, looking more towards road racing type performance. Will be looking for trans upgrades to th325-4l in coming months, thanks.

Chris 718, the TH325-4L is an AOD correct? I'll be checking with your site to see what you have.

Can anyone chime in on how a manual automatic valve body drives on the street, and anyone going into corners with a manual automatic VB, how does your car respond/ drive/ driveability?

no we arwe talking about my ford aod valve body,i mean thats what im talking about:confused:

AOD

When you said AOD I thought you meant Ford AOD. 2004R's are an Automatic Over-Drive but aren't called AOD cuz that's Furd stuff! Kinda like posi-traction is GM and Trac-Lok is ford. :D

Oh well, I thought AOD meant automatic overdrive?! Not really up on automatic transmission terms, have always had manual transmissions in hi-perf cars, autos were always in daily driver cars and trucks, put in D and go! however looking for info on autos and what works and does not.

As this post started, I am looking for the same info also, what is the advantage of manually shifted auto, and the use of manual valve body. How is upshifting, downshifting , like going into a corner and downshifting. or does'nt this really work? This post nor one I started in the general tech section has any feedback regarding any advantage to manual shifting, could sure use any opinions/info,thanks.

.

Full manual is more for all out drag car. Street/strip car would use a auto w/manual override to hold gears to whatever rpm. Full manual v/body generally has full line pressure all the time and has very hard shifts.:)
Does this help?
