I'm looking to put a BRF valve body in my BQ tranny. Is there a difference in the governors in the BQ and BR trannies? Thanks.

Nope

Nope.
I do have a question tho.
Why?
A BQ is as good if not better than a BRF. So why the change?
Just curious, not doubting you or your abilities. :D

Sort of. I am allowed a couple hours a day to work. Very restricted tho. My health issues are coming along, slowly, but that is what I was told. Will give a full report here soon. I got 10 days left of this regiment than I will know more.
Nice pun BTW ..LOL
Thanks

My BQ valve body has a "stacked-shift" in it that the "guru" at Aamco couldn't get out. The 1-2 is fine but it immediately shifts to 3rd after going into second. He ended up putting a generic valve body in and the shifts got alot softer. I figure getting my BQ body fixed would be cheaper but can't trust anyone around here to get it right. I asked a while back about a price of getting something like this fixed but never got a reply. I do have another question for you Bruce. Will adding a shim under the accumulator spring give a stronger shift? I already have your shift kit installed. I'm looking to add a big servo to help the shifts out as well.

I am sorry for not quoting.....

However, It is hard not knowing how long you will have to look to find the problem. I am sure, with the hell you been through, you can understand that.
As far as the shim or washer, yes it will help but only to an extent.
If you HAVE the time, and want to send it to me to try and fix, let me know. Just remember, I am NOT 100%, these days not even close, so it may be a bit. But I would like to see what they screwed up. ALWAYS room to learn more. :D
Let me know.

To make a long story short I messed up the tranny during a race last year. I was manually shifting and when I went to put it in second the shifter cable broke. This caused the engine to rev very high in first gear. I had to drive about 15 miles home in first taching about 4,000 rpms the whole way. When they rebuilt the tranny it shifted just like I wanted except for the stacked shift was now there. He took the valve body home and cleaned the bores and everything real good. For the most part the stacked shift was gone. It would come back every now and then though. The valve body is just sitting on the floor in the other room. I'm trying to get everything right this week and was going to get a BRF valve body from a person on this board, a big servo, and get them both put in. Money's very tight right now and spending some to hopefully fix a problem is not in the cards. I know you can't do this for free so it may be a bit before I can send it to you to have you check it out. I would hate to buy a new valve body only to have mine fixed for half the price but would also hate to pay and still have the stacked shift. I feel confident in your abilities, that's not the problem. The problem is my luck...(as the saying goes) if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck.

I do have one more bit of info. The "experts" at Aamco have also messed up my lock-up somehow. It worked before being brought to them, now it doesn't. I've done the brake-tap test and have a button hooked up to lock my convertor on demand. Neither works. It also doesn't lock up at the usual 45mph in O/D. I think they either put in the wrong convertor, put in a bad switch ( they replaced the lock-up switch saying mine was bad ) or didn't hook the new valve body up correctly. The generic one they used only had one switch unlike the GN's which has 2. They said they put some kind of computer on the car that said it was locking up even though the convertor won't lock up. That's another reason I want a GN valve body back in my tranny.
