Recently, I removed my brass transmission cooler line fittings in favor of AN-6 fittings and braided lines. I noticed that either the inlet or outlet brass fitting (not sure which) was made with a restriction in it. What is the purpose of this restriction and will it hurt to run without it?

Ok, so no one knows if I need these? Does anyone know if the restrictor fitting goes in the upper or lower port?

There's another thread on this topic that is probably still on the first or second page of this section. if one fitting is a lot smaller than the other it is likely because of an aftermarket converter, and that converter company recommends installing it to make their product work correctly. Most are saying to leave it out, as it does not allow enough cooler flow, and can raise line pressure enough to cause problems.
