you get what you pay for. these are the kind of headlights you find on high end luxury cars.

i worked for lexus and the bulbs for the lexus LX470 are 400.00 each . thats why the kit costs so much...

well these are as bright or brighter than my jaguar lights and almost looks like the same bulbs(halogen)..and they are glass lights?peolple already flash the hi beams on me and they are adjusted perfect..once i put in the blue halogen bulbs they are going to be even brighter...but i did buy some on ebay for my suburban and they get all foggy and the clear blinker ones are already cracking..but these look great...

There's a big difference in what he posted and what you posted. What he posted are HIDs which are much much brighter than the halogens you're posting. Most people don't really notice the difference (except for whenever they complain about the lexus that's coming towards them having their brights on but really they're regular HIDs). If you were to dirve a car with HIDs or just ride in one at night it makes a huge difference.

Uhhhh! Duhhhhh! I live in Europe so I know they are not the same especially for $40. Just about every car has them.

please dont tell me they charge $39.50 for ONE housing..
its one housing, one halogen bulb and one adapter to plug into your factory wire so it will now plug into a halogen bulb and for 40 bux its worth every penny..they are extremely bright, they are glass, and they look great...and they fit perfect..anything brighter would get you a ticket for sure...

How do these stack up against the Silver Star Headlights?? I'm in the market for some new headlights and would like something with a little more power.

Thanks

No poaching. But have a lot of LONG DARK highway out in NC with deer everywhere, so I would like to step up my headlight power. Here's a website with some info on the Silver Stars.

http://www.autobarn.net/silstarhalse.html

This is from the Silver Star Sylvania product page.

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/AutomotiveLighting/HighPerformance/Silverstar/

They say "SilverStar's color temperature is a white hot 4,000 K" I wonder how this compares with the ones from the chromeshop? Did they have any info on the box as to what they were rated at?

I know I would save money buying the Silver Stars but if the others are brighter I would rather have them.

i still have the boxes and cant find nothing except 65/55 watt...now the ones your looking at are a "sealed" beam...mine i can just replace the bulbs to brighter or even those bright blue ones, not replace the whole lite every time one goes out...also mine are clear in the front, if you look at the pics i posted earlier you will see how it looks on the car,and i believe that the clear front makes it much brighter..i could be wrong tho..maybe the place can help you with some questions...but i would get them instead of a sealed beam, just incase they come out with some crazy new light bulb, cause all you do is pull the bulb and replace it...
