Have had a 350 done there. They seem to be pretty knowledgable and have been around for a long time. Not sure if this helps you but thought I might chime in.

I made the long distance call. 12-15 work days, and they do not assemble. Price is about what they all charge.

Between myself and three other guys here in Arlington, we have taken multiple blocks, cranks and heads to them for machine work. We have always had good results with Ed. I don't know anymore how he compares in price; but, he has been in the business for at least 30 years now. He's always been a straight up and honest machinist from our experience.

I think these were the guys I used for my 455 in the eighties. They were on Arkansas Lane west of Cooper Street back then.

any one have their v6 done there, and how long did it take? Price?

I am assuming since you are only asking about speed and price you already know about their quality? They do excellent work. They have done stage motors as well (mine specifically). Prices are fair and they are just as fast as any other shops. I have had them take a week and I have had them take 3 weeks just depending on how busy they are. Unless you are looking for a machine shop that knows some double trick Buick specific mods to do I would recommend them highly. I wouldn't travel or ship a motor to let them do it. Good machine work can be found in any city, especially on stock motors. If you start getting into some stage motor stuff you will want to find someone with a little experience building race motors versus straight rebuilds. Very few machine shops will assemble motors. the good ones that do charge alot for their "professional" services and the bad ones that do only have a minimum wage guy slapping them together. I can handle the assembly if you really need help in that area and decide to use Arlington machine.

I will

be using them. I have every thing bought and my block is in Irving at my daughters. They did my heads when I was there in July. I can put it together, just being lazy. When i get back to Kansas I will have almost a full month to get it all done. I am retired so I should be done in a week or two at most.

Let me know if you need help getting it over there. I am taking 4-5 blocks to them to get them cleaned up and machined if they are worth anything. I am assuming this is the shop my buddy is telling me to use........I live in Irving so it shouldnt be any problem trucking it over there for you!

Thanks for the offer. I won't have a problem getting it all to them. I will be there a month, will go to the Pink's race and my son-in-law wants to take me to the nascar race.

You might also want to call Folk's in Norman. I'm told that they do alot of Buick Engines.
