Not holding my breath on anything cool. I like the pic of Jack Cotton's motor that is labeled "2015 Grand National Engine". After reading about all the piston failures in the ATS I want no part of them if they do come out. I guess I've lost faith in GM. Over the last few years I've become a Ford nut hugger....especially with the Ecoboost.

Agree on the Ford too. My 2010 F150 has the 5.4 with only 30k miles and Ive been looking for an excuse to trade in to the Ecoboost.

They used a GNX interior for the 2015 too. o_O Woulda liked to have seen the actual interior and engine. It looks to have a Lucerne grill and an often used hood scoop, but it looks to be fairly cool in the 4 door sedan category of today.

YEA!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT:LOL:

2015 GNX will come fully equipped with a Stage-2 Cotton's Performance motor, 4 inch down pipe, 70MM throttle body, Champion Heads, 88 Turbo, giant FM Intercooler, and a deep 8 second time slip. All with a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty!!!!

Now that's a car I would wait in line with a check for!:woot:

If these show up on the show room floor, I'll be right there in my GN to remind them why the new one missed the boat. Sounds like the GN will be a rebadged ATS. The GNX may be a cool car, but I'm sure they will botch it up a bit and there will be better cars out there for the money. Let's be honest. The TR's were total factory freaks that will never happen again. The more I think about it, the late 60's / early 70's big block Buicks were really the CTS-V's of the day. Luxury with lots of performance. The TR was really a throw back to that. Pretty much the V of the 80's.

Are they really making these in a 4 door cmon man ! Lol will have to see what they really look like from those pics there showing is rather have a 2011 5.0 stang . I don't want a 4 door family car with Gn babges I dont care how fast it is . Keep it a 2 door muscle car please

Bunk, hype, advertising, promotion, exposure or marketing. Whatever you want to call it.

I call it current information. Regardless of how inaccurate it is..

Whether it comes to fruition or not is irrelevant.

I can't believe this insanity hangs on so long!!!!

Meanwhile, back in the Buick lair, product developers are putting the finishing touches on a topless, FWD jellybean with a Toyota grille; the Cascada.

so its not going to be a regal and the gnx/grand national is not an added package?
2 completely different cars?

This is the biggest of many problems I have with this design. 4 doors!! Are you kidding me!

Also, the other factory muscle cars have had great success with "retro" styling. Mustang, Camaro, Challenger. Why not Grand National? Where is the beautiful horizontal tail light display? What happen to the detail line running down the profile of the body accenting it's length? What happened to roof-line angular break-point at the rear window? What happened to the bulging wheel wells? The big air grabbing grill?

And if I was in charge of Buick.......I would have told my engineers to "go into the lab and don't come out until this car outruns a Nissan GTR!!!! And you better use a 3.8 V6 to do it like they did!"

they are only going to make 547 gnx's again as a salute to the first time.

I would post a link, but that's just how secretive this whole thing is going to go down

Hmmm. All I can say is if they are going to make the "Grand National" a 4 door 4 banger (ATS), and only make 547 with a turbo 6, than these cars are going to be laughed at. Seriously, a twin turbo 3.6 just does not excite me given what Ford has been doing with the Ecoboost platform for a few years now. It is not limited production worthy. Let's face it folks, the only reason our TR's are so damn cool is because of the revolutionary technology on the powerplant. Without it, the T Type and Grand National namesake would be right there with the Hurst Olds and MCSS. 80's show and no go just like all the rest.

Unless Buick puts out a car with a revolutionary powerplant that is way ahead of its time again, I really don't see these cars selling. Like others said, the platform will need to be a GT-R killer in order to demand the same respect that ours did back in the day.
