astroroof seal

When replacing the astroroof seal, (outside weatherstrip seal that seals the glass itself) do you have to remove the astroroof from the car?

yes - the job will come out better and you have less risk of tearing that new gasket..good luck...
 
It's not too bad to do... Couple of tips... Remove the front seats so that you can moce around easier... Also cover the roof around the opening with some painters tape to prevent scratches when you pull the glass out.
 
Thanks for the replies! I guess we will be getting busy on it soon, while the car is apart for repainting.
 
If the car is apart for repainting, I assume you have removed the interior (I remove mine to make shooting the door jambs easier- most body shops are a little sloppy with the masking and I'd hate to risk dirtying up the interior any more than necessary)-

After the glass is removed might want to clean and lube the tracks while you're there (less chance of accidentally messing the seats or carpet)
