I am curious whether or not anyone with a GN/T-Type/TTA has shoehorned a Syclone or Typhoon 4.3L motor in it. If so, what did it take to accomplish that?

that would be "reverse progress" in the extreme......the 4.3's are not anywhere close to a 3.8/4.1 in performance potential.....at least at the "stock" level

Az, you raise a very good point. I recall the old skool 4.3s having a boatload of reliability problems.
