Jack, in a previos post a while back here you said that you can put a switch in the ecm signal wire to not allow the fuel pump to run on one of your pnp hot wire kits? I want you to do that for me.. can you please contact me and let me know the cost to add that to one one of your pnp kits that I want to buy asap? Thanks!

Frank, I am not sure of the method that you are asking about, but on a hot wire type fuel pump set up, the wire that switches the relay is controlled by the computer and it would be easy to just run that wire from the harness to a switch and then from the switch to the relay instead of just going from the harness to the relay.

Tes I know Steve. But I wanted it done *right* by Racetronix.. Sure I can splice in a switch if Jack won't but if he can do it from the factory Ill take it like that.. He said in a previous post that he could do it easy for anyone..

The ECM (via a relay) and the oil pressure switch both control the fuel pump. This means that the signal would have to be interrupted where both these circuits come together. This would require the 'hotwire' harness to be altered from its present design. Right now Racetronix is very busy with regular production so we are unable to produce a custom one-off harness at this time. If there are enough people interested in this feature then perhaps I can consider putting a batch into production at a future date?

You mean that I could NOT just interupt the pump wire from the engine to the pump after the fuse block to kill the pump?? The oil pressure line just stops the pump till you have oil pressure .. correct? no, yes?

The oil pressure switch just turns on the dash light at <4 PSI, it does not do anything to the fuel pump.

You can interrupt the power, or even the ground to the relay, at lots of different places on the way to the pump

This is incorrect... Look at the vehicle schematic.
This is why the TR switch has three wires instead of two.

Thanks for the link!

Is that the same oil pressure switch that is by the line that feeds the turbo? - the only one I know of.

I have always read, in the early days, that it does kill the pump. But for the last years, posters have been writing that the pressure switch only turns on the light and does nothing to the pump - they have in fact been correcting (as I thought I did) posters commenting on the switch.

I should have known better, I should have checked, but the posts I was relying on were from respected posters that were going out of their way to seemingly correct an incorrect supposition - WHY:confused: :o Are there other oil pressure switches that these people could be talking about?
