Auto meter boost gauge?

I just got my Auto Meter Boost Gauge and out of the box it is reading 7 vac. I have not installed it. Shouldn't it be reading 0. Just wondering if anyone knows before I install and find out it is broken.

Check the instructions. There's usually a pin in the back for shipping. Once the pin is out it should be at 0. Check the instructions.

Nothing in the instructions about a pin. Checked the gauge I don't see anything pin like. I will call tomorrow and talk to Auto Meter

My auto meter boost gauge had a small plastic thing holding the needle firm while it was shipped. When I pulled it out, the needle went to zero.
