History Channel is profiling Hollywood stars and the cars they died in, including Sam Kinison in his 1989 TTA.

OH MY GOD! Can you believe they got the T/A COMPLETELY WRONG!? They showed a 1985 Firebird and NEVER MENTIONED Sam's car was actually a TTA!! They said it was a 5.7 L V-8 white T/A and this is supposed to be a friggin CAR PROGRAM!!!

Talk about AWFUL!!

I agree. Makes me rethink all the other crap I see on car programs and assume that they are right.

Actually I believe they showed an 89 but it was a TPI 5.7 L98 350 car.

Guess they couldn't come up with a TTA..
:)

They could have just posted a picture of the actual car.........

I have a similar b&w photo taken at a side view from either The Star or Enquirer from the time of the accident.

My wife asked why I was clipping such a gruesome picture out of a weekly rag. I said "because it's a TTA". :(

I remember Sam talking about that car when he was on the Howard Stern Show.

I don't know F bodies that well but a buddy of mine who currently owns a TTA called me after the program and said it was an '85. He knows 3rd gen's inside and out. I noticed the Firebird they showed had an incorrect spoiler. It was black instead of white and IF it was a 1985 was the wrong style. I don't believe the wheels were vingate '89 either.

For a program billing itself as a "car enthusiast" show they're even worse than PATHETIC. What else have they gotten wrong? It leaves the door wide open.

I saw the show too. Hey how can you narrow down the year? All 85-90 TA's look the same. The car they used was even missing the fender GTA's or assuming it was a 85-86 it was missing the decals. Yeah it would have been great if they used a real TTA. How hard would it have been to find one?

That show slays me. Its more of a comedy than anything. I about died laughing when that expert with the accent said you could modify the stock engine to make 400HP and that retard Goldberg says "WOW, just think how fast that is!". Man like I said, use a real TTA and do some smoky burn outs.

I don't know much about 3rd gens. He's a member here and will ask him to explain.

I've watched a few episodes of that show and have caught ALOT of misinformation, on the same show with Sam Kinisons car when he was talking about James Deans' Porsche, he stated something about how the car was powered by the "Powerful BRITISH flat 4".....and I always thought Porsches were German.....they need to do a little more fact checkin'!

The white TA they had on the show was an 86. High mount 3rd brake light. I agree, that show was retarded. They at least could have had nice 3rd gens in the show. They even showed the 82s. Which were major POSs.

You're right, the high mounted third brake light and black spoiler was 86 only... my bad.
