After doing some searching on here I see people are both for and against the AZ Powermaster. I decided to go with it instead of doing the vacuum conversion, as I got 15 years out of the first one. Is there anything else I will need to but in addition to what comes in the kit for $143.99? Thanks.

I think its a hit and miss with good and bad units. Myself along with another local GN buddy, have the AutoZone powermonster replacement units and they have worked flawlessly for the past 2 years. The next person may not be as lucky though. Word to the wise.. Look the unit over before buying (accumulator, return lines corroded ?, resevoir seals, etc..) Oh yea, spend another 35 bucks and buy the whole assembly for $180.00

Power Master

Why not by a brand new Power Master E/H unit direct from Hank Terry? He sells only new units. He is the only person that bought the rights to build new PM units, not remanufactured ones. I just bought one from him and it works perfectly, not to mention Hank has great customer service and excellent installation instructions.
He can be reached at Hank Terry [turbocars@yahoo.com]. Give him a call, you won't be sorry you did.

Best Regards,

What is the rest of the assembly for $35? I thought I was buying the complete piece, for $143.99. I had seen that price on this website as what other people were paying too. I think I get the PM unit, accumulator ball and switch, correct? Is there something else I should be getting?

James West,
I had considered buying a new PM unit but I thought it would be very expensive so I went with the remanufactured one.

I think the 35 bucks was my core charge.. Not sure as it was 2 years ago. I ended up paying 181.00 out the door and brought my old core back later. Comes with everything assembled (pressure switch, motor, resevoir, accumulator).

I bought a Autozone powermaster and it's a miss. Everytime I hit the brake pedal, the brake light comes on, and powermaster motor comes on for a long time. I installed it correctly and bled the lines. Total cost was $144 plus $60 core plus tax = $220.00.

I've ordered a vacuum system off the internet, I'm returning the PM for a refund. I'm tired being scared , will the GN stop with a mushy pedal or hard pedal or pedal all the way to the floor?
It's not supposed to be like a box of chocolates( not knowing what you're going to get ).

Just my story,

James
