What is this dash worth without the senders.i found this for sell and before i purchase i want to know what to look for. the dash looks complete, wiring looks good too,he wants $300.00,for whats in picture.its actually cleaner than pics look.
And if i can get the senders pretty easily.thanks

The vss speed sensor will be the hardest sensor to obtain...
.If you decide to upgrade the gauges to VDO Vision, let me know I can provide a simple fix for the vss...
The other sensors ..oil, temp, should be easy..

have that cluster on my 87x and 8 gauge PI dash with VDOs in my other cars
senders are easy,
you'll need the 36" upper speedo cable (ebay cheap $20)
the dash bezel is going to need cutting and a plastic lens fitted (original had AVC logo in corner)
the dash carrier plastic (behind stock cluster) needs to be cut out and remove the plastic harness protector
duct behind dash needs to be drilled for a short piece of platic pipe (speedo cable runs through it)
wire for oil sender needs to be run to the oil idiot wire
wire for coolant temp ties to the OE coolant idiot wire
tach can be pulled from the analog cluster tach harness or just run a wire to the connector behind alternator

i do have the install instructs for this

issue is vdo gauges are junk and the wiring is way to tight and flimsy and have gone so far as to redo the entire harness with new spade terminals and longer wires
i have replaced nearly every gauge over the years due to issues with accuracy
tank gauges , boost gauge, speedometer , odometers , tach , water temp
all gauges except the speedo are available , for the speedo i cut the case open, repair and then weld back

i went ahead and purchased it,pacecarta can you send me the instructions?looks like ive got another project this winter, remove the 145 speedo and put this thing in.

Call me silly...but i love watching my needle hit max speed in 3 seconds. 85mph cluster FTW!!! :P

Good luck with the install..will look good op!

any ideas why its painted this way?the lower gages on right look like the arm is a little faded too ,compared to the rest.any way to fix that?

If it came out of a t-top car then the sun faded the needles. If you can get the face trim off and the clear covers then you can get some fluorescent orange paint and brush it on. I've done it on a few.

Yup, or you can send the VDO gauges out to an authorized dealer / repair centre & have them replace the needles.
I have personally used North Hollywood Speedo & Clock in LA and can vouch for their work.
