Average cost ????

So what is the average cost of a good transmission rebuild ? I don't have and never will have a 500+ hp monster, just a nice street/strip low 12 high 11 sec car. I've searched and have come up with anywhere from $900 to $2000+.

Robert, I would call Mike Kurtz at Century Trans in the Houston area. He is the most knowledgable person I know of in that area and won't try to sell you more than you need. My personal opinion is anyone that will do 200 4R for $900 is not going to give you something you can live with.

I've had one of Cotton's street/strip $975 trannies for several years and it's still ripping up the strip. Have to disagree that you can't get a good one for $900 range. Even his HIPO version is around $1500, I think.
