Who would have thought getting something as simple as an axle would be so difficult? After trying the nation chain auto parts stores ("Nope, sorry, we dont carry 'em for that model") and my local buick dealer ("sorry, thats a discontinued aprt, we dont make it any more") I figured I'd try Jeg's an Summit. Jegs said it'd have to be a custom part, and that I'd need to fill out a form and send it in to them. The guy at summit was very helpful, but the part number that he kept giving me was for a 7.5" 10-bolt, whereas I was pretty sure all our cars came with the 8.5" version. So before I call back and order an axle from them, I want to make sure I have all the info at hand to ensure I get a proper axle.
So if anyone knows for sure what the spline count (i'd guess 28, but I'm not sure) and length of our axles are, and can confirm that its a 8.5" 10-bolt, I would really appreciate it. Or even better, if you know a part number, for either Superior Axles, or Moser (summit sells both of them, I'm probably gonna end up going with whichever is cheaper) for the proper axle for our car, i would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks!!!
