Hey all,

It's me again looking for some great advice. My back-up lights work, however, it seems to me that the steering column is not making the proper contact. I have a column shift and I have to manually adjust in order for the lights to come on. What can I do to make this a permanent fix. I'm taking the car for inspection and I don't want fail. Thanks in advance.

The gear selector switch is down at the base of the steering column inside the car.

It's allegedly adjustable I've never had to do it. :)

Dark blue feed wire, and light green output wire on the switch to the lamps.

It's on the upper part of the column just slightly on the right side way down at the base of the column, sticks up quite a bit in the picture so you should be able to find it loosen it, and adjust it and retighten the mounting.

I got up early this morning to work on the reverse lights before I wento for my inspection. Anyhow, didn't get to finish and went to the muffler shop to get the whole exhaust done. The exhaust shop do inspections as well. To make the story short when it was time to get inspected the reverse came on perfectly. It was like the car new she was being inspected. :) Then I found out that here in Va if you don't have light bulbs or the socket are cut off that you won't fail the inspection. At the end my car has a brand new exhaust and pass inspection. Tomorrow, I'm planning on working on the passenger side window and hopefully with the pictures you sent me (salvageV6) everything will go well.
