Had the timing jacked down on my TTA (with Erics Street Chip) and when I tried starting it the car backfired then started shortly thereafter. Figured it was cause I jacked with the timing. Put the timing back up to 128 on the Scanmaster and it happened again. Then I was "testing it out" and it popped or backfired while I was heating the tires at about 4k rpms. I have new plugs, wires, and coil pack........so my question is ignition module??? Would that be a likely culprit for the problem?

First.. unplug the orange connector by the battery and reset the computer. Replug it back in.. start car.. let it learn the chip.. and then try and see what you got.

If it still does the backfiring.. then its time to start looking.

I have done this when I put the chip in, and I will try it again. Thanks
