Backspacing

I am looking at getting a pair of 15 by 8 1/2 inch wheels for the rear of my 86' T Type. I was just wondering what would be the optimum back spacing is for them running a stock rearend with no body mods? I don't want them to stick out too far or be sucking in too far. Please any help would be appreciated. Thanks

3.5" or 4" would work.

for an 8.5" wheel, 4" would work best.

3.5" would need to have the fender lip rolled with 275 wide tires.
