I finally got my engine running and it wants to die except when I give it gas, but then it back fires and stumbles. I believe have the cam sensor set right. The car is throwing out a code 32 and I replaced the egr selonoid. I tested the egr by placing my finger over tube and pushing up on the egr and it held up. Anybody have any ideas? Cant afford a scan tool yet so is there any other method of checking this? Also I replaced the fuel filter and doesnt the flow on that line go to the front of the car? The one I took off was going towards the back of the car. Sorry, I just bought this car awhile back so i'm not sure. Thanks for any help

yes, arrow follows path to engine. got any buddies w/ scan tool? gets real expensive real quick just throwing things at it and we need more info to get ya down the right path. wise move would be to get scantool, fuel pressure gauge, and aftermarket boost gauge then start trouble shooting- it will be the best money you'll spend on the car(other than the money spent buying the car)

You should check every vacuum line on the car. I had the same problem when I first got mine and one of the best things I did to start was replace every vacuum hose on the car and zip tied everyone of them in place. Save for that scan tool..........

got it running half decent now but it has a small backfire out the exaust when I give it gas. Sorry I do not know anybody with a scan tool yet just got into this stuff.

also getting some smoke looks to be grey or blue. This things been totally rebuilt so I hope its something other than the engine. Any one in Orlando or Maitland with a scan tool and a couple of extra hours? This car is not tagged yet so I cannot take it anywhere. Thanks

sounds like it's running rich. do you have an AFPR & pressure gauge on the rail? need more info than what your giving.

I got a fuel pressure gauge and it read 36 psi with key on and 40 psi at idle with vh off. I have a upgraded fuel pump and hot wire kit. What else would you like to know.

someone correct me if I'm wrong but if his blms are off at idle due to a vacuum leak or something small wouldn't this cause the car to run rich

you are correct about vac leaks, that is why a scan tool is the FIRST tool you should buy when trying to work on these cars. without any numbers on what ECM is seeing, your are just guessing at what MIGHT be wrong. not trying to beat ya up, just trying to honestly help here.
