Last weekend, I was driving my tr around and a slight tapping developed on the way to a buddies house, by the time that I got their, the tap had gotten worse, so I just went home and pulled the valve covers off. Well the number 4 intake rocker has about an 1/8 gap in in, when pushing down of the pushrod, where as I checked the rest of the rocker arms and none of them are, like this. I would have the say that the tapping got worse very rapidly. The car has plenty of oil and the motor only has 94k miles. I was just wondering if this sounds more like a wiped cam or not. Any suggestions would help. And if it does turn out to be a wiped cam, would this be a good time to do a rebuild.
