Ok, I am at a total loss of power. On my Scanmaster 2.1, the throttle idle is a whopping 4.42. When I try to adjust the tps, it has little affect. Could it be a bad sensor?

Idle is 4.42?
Idle should be .42 plus or minus.

The TPS voltage should smoothly go from .4ish to about 4 volts as you go from idle to WOT

Since the TPS sensor is just a variable resistor, max resistance at idle go to near zero at WOT, and as resistance goes down voltage goes up. TPS reads are voltage.

Just unplug the connector and use a ohmmeter and check it. Don't even need to run the engine. The reading should vary from 'idle' (resistance) to near zero resistance at WOT.

I know, but it was at 4.42 or 4.40. Now for some reason it jumped down to like "only" 3.70 with the ignition off. The car is at a tremendous loss of power too, and it will barely adjust. I'm hoping to replace it by tomorrow. I just hope it's a bad sensor. My "check engine" light stats on now, and never did before...

BTW, would the "check engine" light come on for a bad TPS, or is this totally unrelated?

Yeah it could be a could 21 or 22 with Tps, depending on the problem. I would use a paper clip to check the codes manually, before I did anything else. Your car is not going to run right at all with those tps settings.
