Bad VSS?

At one time my factory fuel gauge did work. I replaced my sender with a good sender. It did not read at the dash. I did replace my speedometer unit. My TCC quit working after I did this. Do I need another analog speedometer?

When you replaced the speedometer unit did you srew the speed sensor back on to it?
