Just borrowed "Band Of Brothers" DVD box set from a friend . I'm into the 3 disc . Watching it on the HT and in 7.1 , pretty cool . Got the sub bass and 7.1 surround volume cranked and the explosions and bullets feel like they're going off next to your head . anyone else seen it and liked it ??? IMO , I think it's a pretty accurate portrayal of what went down . But, I have German/Austrian relatives and they tell me a different story . :)

I bought that set a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. I started on a Friday and didn't leave the television until I had finished the whole set. Definitely the best movie series I have ever seen!

My 14 year old son saw one episode and was hooked . did the whole box set series in one sitting as well . and now watching it for a second time with me . :) I think it's a good thing for him to watch , these days a event as important as this was seems to get lost with kids today . hopefully it will actually give him somekind of better understanding of what went on . I'm not even sure if it is taught in schools today . to actually see it recreated fairly accurate is well worth it .

Yeah great series

Then again I like war movies in general

Granted there are some really crappy ones

the ONLY thing I did not like was the casting of David Schwimmer in it . everytime I saw him I counld not think of anyone but Ross from the TV show Friends . LOL :)

I'm not a big war movie fan, but I have told people since it first came out that it was the best thing put on film ever. IMO it is better than any movie, tv series etc. When they're in the woods just outside a small town and the morters are going off all around them, it is pretty intense.

Definitely one of my all time favorites as well, I would highly recommend it. Another I would recommend would be Black Hawk Down.

I thought he was perfect. I read the book, and capt sobel was described as david schwimmer to a T, even the photograph section in the middle revealed a dead ringer for the guy.

Next time you are in a bookstore take a look, you will be surprised.
