I made to the track today, got some weird looks and heard the annoucer talking about how "some peope start out driving the 'Ole Family car on T&T nights and get the bug and build or buy an 8 or 9 second racer soon after".. LOL!...I just want a competitve daily, um, sleeper...yeah...Anyways...
Here it is: 82*F ambient temp/ partly sunny

0.847----RT
2.323----60ft
6.525----330ft
9.422----ET@594ft(?)
10.072---1/8th ET
69.14-----1/8th MPH
15.745----1/4 ET
87.38------1/4 MPH

Followed by:
0.705---RT
2.255---60ft
6.529---330ft
9.465---ET@594ft

Any suggestions on a good starting point?
Modds: 2.25" mandrel bent exhaust, decent free-flo muffler&cat, 605 Auto Lite plugs@.055"

Oh, on my first run, I ran against a 1st gen DSM-Eclipse turbo. He had at least a muffler, a CAI with a large cone filter that's about all I could really tell in Pit-Row. He ran:
.728-----RT
2.306---60ft
6.506---330ft
9.248---ET@594ft
9.869---1/8th ET
72.44---1/8th MPH
15.229--1/4ET
91.64----1/4 MPH

I thought from the sound of it he'd blow my doors off!...maybe he has some tuning issues??Still beat me tho!..hahaha!..

IT`s really cool when you can make it to the track on a week day. it`s the best time for test and tuning. Nice run, what are you future plans which the car?.

For now, I'd like to break the 15 second barrier, not setting too high of a goals, I think it's best to take it a little at a time.
Things I noticed:
* traction was NOT a problem, not enough power, yet..
*1-2 shift was a little early, 2-3 was late, both were soft..
*rear Air-Bags are a MUST, weight transfer was too easy, and I have too leave on the second yellow to cut a good RT.

Maybe:??
1)fab a CAI....(I think I can get it to go through the sheet metal near the purge canister ending up in the fender between the fender-well and the front bumber...there's some dead space there and cooler air..)
2)drop .5" in pulley size.(*plus whatever is needed to support it, like fuel-pump/hot-wire kit/injectors etc..)
3)I like to get one of those, performace trans shift switches, fabbed for it..(It shifts way too lazy for serious performance..)
4)rear Air-Bags, pumped up on race day.

I remember the 15.8...you were pretty much dead on it.;)
I'm pleased with the baseline times, for a big family sedan, I nearly ran as fast as a lightly modded turbo-DSM..:) I just need some more Grunt!...but I'm working on it.
You guys and your info have been a Huge Help in getting things rolling, Thanx!..

And No, I haven't weighed it yet, but the sticker in the door jam reads 3886 curb weight...but I'm not sure if that's with 4 passengers or not?
I'll see if I can slip over to Landmark Grainery or the local Gravel Pit to use some scales.

I ran it with everything in the car, spare/jack and all, and with only 1/4 of a tank of gas, 94 Sunoco....30lbs of air in the front tires and 35 in the rears.(..as if I had to worry about traction yet!;) )

I'm going to get a boost gage soon, so I can get some idea of my SC output, and maybe a fuel pressure gage too...

holy ****...i'm impressed
i thought for sure it would have run low 16's
great job

i would get that blower ported and polished, then start dropping pulley sizes:)

i can make you a nice low restrictive intake, shoot me a PM
we'll have you smoking mustangs before too long;)

a new ECM will help your shifts

might want to look into some new shocks..

did you ever get your smoking problem fixed?

Not completely, still haven't replaced the 02 sensor yet, but much better! I have noticed that some days it runs like an "animal", but most of the time it runs like it did at the track. I'm thinking a "CAI" and relocated "AIT" might help improve things.

Where is the "bottle neck" area for these blower, to port??

How much $ ?

For a chip id your OBD II i'd contact Intense. If your OBD I id contact Fast Chip.

For A ported blower contact WPI through 3800performance. They do some great porting on M90's. I not sure if they can do a M62 but it doesnt hurt to ask.
