went to the track today. first pass was fine, 3 more and each time the car would cut out real bad. Decided to get it home befor i broke it. Drove 35 miles with no problem. As soon as I pulled off the hiway the car died. Just got it home and the battery is 100% dead. What could do that or did it just short out? It is about 3 years old, took a full charge yesterday.

Maybe try another battery first, to determine if it's the charging system that went TU.
Some other items that come to mind:
A.Delco batteries are famous for spitting out the + connector.
B. The pos batt cable got onto the downpipe.
C. The ground cable bolt at the base of the turbo is loose.

I checked the cables when it died,Also I had just looked at the volt meter about 5 minutes befor it went and it was at 14 volts. Will throw in a battery tomorrow after I check all the cables again.

had happen: The plate hanger has broken from hard launches, and the plates have moved, shorting out internally.
Is the battery in the trunk??

stock location. I am asssuming the battery getting ready to go was causing the car to cut out also. I was real lucky it almost got me home. Coasted to a stop 2 blocks away. When it went, the lights flikered 2 or 3 times then it was gone.

fixed it

it was the battery wire to the alternator. It shorted out against the case and melted the soider and fell out.
