So I recently picked up an American Racing Solutions belt tensioner and new oem-style pulley. I noticed that the bearing in the pulley fits a bit sloppy on the belt tensioner. Is this normal? It doesn't seem right. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No, there should be no slop in the pulley. If you can wiggle it with your bare hands and it moves in any way other than spinning around the proper axis, it's too loose.

I’m hoping they didn’t machine the tensioner too small.

When you tighten the bolt that holds the pulley onto the tensioner it shouldn't move.
