Do I need more than power and ground and the chips to get data to and from direct scan on a bench setup.

IE certain inputs sensors etc. to get a decent data stream.

I don't mind the error codes if D.Scan runs somewhat. :)

TIA

PS: I will get some connectors and spare parts for the future setup but want to run it safely now.

You need about a 13v power supply at 1.5A, if you want to just run LEDs where the LEDs normally go.
You need a 10K linear potientometer (varialbe resistor) for the coolant temp, and one for the MAT.
Then a frequency input of 30-140 Hz for the MAF input.
Then a signal that duplicates the cam/ crank sensor. Rumor has it a crank signal with just a single cam pulse will allow it to synch up and do SEFI correctly.
And a VSS pulse type generator.
Then some switches for the 3-4 gear switchs, P/N switch.

Then plug an ESC into the system.

If you want a pic of an ecm bench email off list and I'll send a pic of what mine looks like.
