I don't think he removed the cluster.
God forbid, and we would be helping to align that as well. :D

No cluster removal. My left turn signal bulb was out. Used a piece of clear nylon tubing to remove the bulb, move contacts and reinstall.

Just came from my garages. It looks like the top clips have to face in/down,Heisen. Otherwise there is no lip to grab. See pic.

Nevertheless,I still can't get this thing in. I pulled it back out,and one of the side clips is waaay in the hole. Have to run back to the house and get needle nose and a pen magnet.

Sorry guys, but this reminds me of putting together one of those cheap snap-together models as a kid. Nothing fits right....then thunk it goes in.

Check the pic. I believe the top clips face down.

It's not a 'gay' thing... poor fella is an A&P, they can't think right without a printed order of operations :D

Well, you are close,Earl. I worked with an A&P about 12 years ago for a few years for x-tra $. Very tedious work there. Also worked with the guys uncle back then who was the master of airframe metal-work from WWII. We re-skinned a few bellies due to gear-up landings. Many different sizes and types of rivets. Long hours.. Local airport work. I liked the metalwork better. Uncle metal-master passed away, ending that. Nice old guy. Had weird tools.

With over 3,000hrs of pilot time,my Commercial/multi ticket is used flying skydivers Spring thru Fall. Take 'em up....throw 'em out!

No more flying full time because I like to be home tinkering/inventing. ...things like the breaker in the ashtray.

H-berg... Thanks for all of the pics, advice, etc. I still believe those top clips must face down, tho.

***** I did get that bezel in. It took lots of force. Nothing broke, even tho it's 30'F in the garage.

One clip is missing near the headlight switch so it will have to come apart again some day. I'll have my junkyard-dog buddy who travels around the country doing parts/eBay grab me clips.

Thanks again. (y) <-- Earl, why are you looking at me like that? lol

think of the missing clip as a weight saving measure....

but not enough to have to recheck weight and balance :D
