Biggest Turbo with stock converter

with a stock converter what would be the biggest turbo you could get for a mostly street car?? I was thinking 61BB would be nice?? any inputs??

61 BB Turbo with an RJC Boost valve. It will spool as quick as the stock turbo & work GREAT with the stock D5 convertor.

Are you running this combo?Reason I ask is that I came up with the same combo for my TTA and believe it will spool very nice and with the D5 make it as nice to drive as a stocker.

I have this turbo with a 3000 stall 9x11 and it spools QUICK! I could see one spooling ok with a D5 and some sort of controler like a RJC.


Was actually thinking of selling the turbo if anyone is interested.

I had a stock D5 with a GT3255 w/RJC controller. Car did 1.79 60' on MT DRs. Best ET was 12.19@114 with 21lb and 18 degrees. If you have a stock motor you don't need a big turbo to go low 12s or high 11s.

Now I have a 2800 10" and spool is instant. HTH
