Sonnax billet servo directions said for firmest shifts install their solid spacer and leave out the large cushion spring and bell spring retainer. Has any one installed the servo this way and if so are the shifts too hard without the large cushion spring. Thanks

I leave the cushion spring in place. If I want a firmer shift I block the 1-2 accumulator.

Put the cushion spring in,If you dont you will have a REAL hard 3-2 shift when coasting to a stop.

good advice.the understanding of upshift accumulation yields valuable information when tuning this circuit.using the cushion spring in conjunction with the proper 1/2 spring and accumulator valve spring or the deletion of the 1/2 accumulator housing completely allows the inner spring to be used as a shift cushion.failure to follow these gudelines introduced failures that would never happen otherwise.case and point ,band anchor pin failure ,anchor to case damage,or band damage.plus the 3/2 and 2/1 shift concerns you install into the transmission the minute you remove the spring.
