Black SMoke

I get black smoke out of the tailpipes sometimes after i get on it real quick...My friend wit a DSM said thats normal for a Turbo car...I dunno about you but any kind of smoke is bad to me....Is there something wrong wit my car...? Thanks

Black smoke usually points toward a rich condition...but if it only does it when you mash it, carbon buildup may be to blame.

Do you have a scan tool Sleeper87? If so, have you noticed what the BLM's & o2's are doing?

If you haven't flushed the engine with GM Top Engine Cleaner, it is a good idea to do so. It's very easy to do as well.

You have a translator on the car?

237 regulator?

Either of these things can cause it

Scan tool NO, waiting for my roomate to pay up so i can buy it...As for carbon buildup...I dont think so its a Freshly Rebuilt motor, new exhaust, etc....As for a 237 Reg yes i have this...I tried to run my Thrasher Chip 92octane stock injector chip...And it makes the boost goto like 18psi and i cant get alot of performance from 12psi to like 18psi for some reason....

Coil pack or MAF problems will cause this too.

My car does it to when i hit the gas hard. I was told this is normal because of a little turbo lag and the car is running rich till the turbo spools up. Is this true.
