Hi I have an '85 T-type I'm in the middle of painting black, which is the factory color. It has chrome bumpers but all the trim is black, I don't know if it came that way or what.

I was thinking about changing the wheel well trim to chrome, and maybe around the windshield and rear windshield.

Anyone have a black t type with chrome bumpers with black trim, and anyone have one with chrome trim(other than headlight bezel)?

If so please post some pictures so I can decide what to do.

Mine is coded W-11.

Thanks looks good! I was thinking of doing the chrome because that's how old muscle cars had it. And it's black so should look good.

Keep them coming!

I know that 86 and 87 T's came black trim with chrome bumpers.
The limited were all chrome from what I can remember

Fair to say that is normal.

Maybe I'll just 're paint my wheel trim black to save money, I do need another passenger rear though.

I looked through the turbo regal picture thread and it seems like if people have chrome mouldings or wheel trim everything is chrome.

I was thinking about just adding those two things but keeping headlight bezel and turn signal bezel black. Also taillight bezel black.

When I was trying to decide how I wanted my project I looked at all the WE4 & black paint with chrome trim Turbo Regal pictures I could find, I opened a couple of the large resolution pictures in PAINT program and used the brush and pen etc to blackout various pieces of chrome, saving the different variations. PAINSTAKING aaarghh! Unfortunately I hit delete on all that after I decided. I'm a pack rat with all that other junk in the garage - geez it would have been too EZ to save those pics. OH WELL!

Anyway the look I liked the best - ol skool kinda - was blackout trim with chrome bumpers, GTA wheels with a set chrome center caps & lug nuts, and a pair of chrome mirrors that I found on one black or dark blue NA Regal. I went so far as to hunt down a real NICE set of chrome mirrors that fit the mount holes on the Regal. I still have them somewhere out in the GRAGE. Anyway just my 2 cents to stir the pot.

Damn - wish I had those pictures. There are a couple Turbo Regals on the board with chrome mirrors I think. Whatever you decide Wahoo, do it YOUR way!

Black bumpers were an option on the "blackout" cars.
My 86 T has black out & black bumpers.
The 87 has black out and came w/ chrome bumpers. [Now body color].

Have any pictures of your 76? I used to have a 77 cutlass supreme, same body style. Would be interesting to see your 76 regal with blacked out bumpers.

Looks sweet! Can't wait to finish mine. I think I'll keep all the trim black like yours. Thanks for the pictures

I was thinking of painting my car crystal red tintcoat which is on a lot of gm vehicles like corvettes and camaros. But im having a hard time deciding, so i want to bump this thread to see more black cars with chrome bumpers, hoping maybe it will help me decide

This was my '87 T (non turbo) w/ Y56 code. Paint was checked all over so it looked OK from 20 feet. Black w/ chrome though. It did have a red pinstripe I pulled off but I can't find those pics. I also did satin around the parking lenses.

Thank you for the kind words... I figured you'd like the black.
You know what they say- "once you go black"...:D

If you want to save the hassle of a paint job you could always just buy my car... ;)
