Do i have to do a rear main if i put a block gurdle on? and alos, can i do it while the motor is in the car? Thanks.

i dont have one but from what ive read

yes ,if its leaking you should do the rear main . if it was already replaced with a new style neoprene and its not leaking leave it alone , if its the original rope do it even if it isnt leaking , lot harder once the girdle goes in.

no, you cant do it in the car , motor has to come out and be machined

Talked with Jason on Monday, and he told me that there is a guy who installed a girdle with the engine in the car. Personally, I think that's nuts. Brian

You have to weld spacers on the rear main cap, have the front 3 caps machined flat, and have it line bored. And even if you could hack it in the car without doing properly, I guarantee you won't be able to get it to seal. It is seriously an engine out of the car ordeal.

I have 4 billit main caps and the rear main was done. I guess i'll wait to do a gurdle if the motor has to come out. thanks alot guys.
