I posted this on the hot air board and I thought more people would see this here so sorry for posting this twice.
It started sounded weird while i was driving, then in less than a minute it got real loud...sounded like a diesel truck. So I pulled over and popped the hood and couldn't see anything. Tried to drive it home and sounded like it was going to die and the turbo was spoolin funny. So I pulled over and got it towed the next morning. Took it to a shop and they said it was the bearings in the cam. They say it will have to be rebuilt. Nobody makes crate motors for TRs right? So if anyone knows anyone that could help me out around Iowa I would appreciate it very much. Going to call a few guys tomarrow and see what they have to say.

I think Rons Custom Auto does crate motors. Frang G. on here will build them for you too.

Jeese, if you have to go to the time and expense of a new motor I wonder how much more would be involved in putting in an intercooled '86 or '87 motor? I have an '82 Regal with an intercooled motor in it but it was done before I bought it so I don't know what all was involved but it sure seems like a worthwhile swap. Easier to work on too, imo.

By the way, I haven't noticed many from Iowa here. I was born in Des Moines and have alot of realatives in Iowa. Good to see you here!
