I am getting ready to paint my car.I got a different trunk lid to put on my 87 GN. The new one is from an 85 GN. After the switch I noticed that the lid is about 1/4 Inch too close to the right quarter panel. I cannot see any adjustment for the side to side position of the trunk lid. Any ideas?

The hinges can be "adjusted" side-to-side with a large bar. Remove your trunk, adjust, check fit until satisfied. The deck lids are identical.

take off the latch and losen the bolts at the hinge and move the lid in very small increments to align the lid to the fenders.
