SignUp Now!hey are you usin the HD actuater or a standard one? simple question but thought id ask cause the HD one cant go any lower then 19lbsNeed to know more about the car. What turbo? What torque convertor? What about the other Powerlogger readings? What chip is he using? Does he have room to safely cut back on fuel delivery (lower fuel pressure or pull fuel through the chip)?
I almost wish I had this problem. Mine's the opposite--I can't keep my boost low enough to safely run 93 octane and I drive it on the street a lot. Was doing some hard pulls the other day to show a friend of mine what my transmission is doing (flaring on the 2-3 shift) and I saw 23 psi on one of the pulls. Sucks having to run the really expensive gas *all* the time...:frown:
So you did have boost over 17lbs before you changed the intercooler? Id pressure test the cooler, see if maybe its got a leak.
This is what i did, didnt have boost for 2years! Get some soapy water in a spray bottle, and spray all over the engine, had a lot of boost coming from around the EGR! Then i found that valve guides was letting boost get pass valve stem. Just keep trying.I would remove the valve covers, remove the rocker arms, and pressurize the system from the outlet of the turbo with like 25 psi from an air compressor. It will start to hiss from somewhere. If it doesn't it must be a cylinder sealing issue.
Do you have a manual boost controller? This problem happened to me once at 15 psi, and it turned out that somehow the ball inside the boost controller(ball and spring setup) made its way into the spring. I took the ball out and tightned up the top of the spring put it back together and viola!
