Yes I have done a search and read about this but have not found a good answer. Boost at first punch( usually downshifting) spikes about 5 lbs or so from 17 to about 22 or 23psi, then settles down. I am running a bleeder and the vacuum lines are very short. I removed the bleeder and ran a line from the pressure ftting on the turbo right to the wastegate....the spike is gone, but the spool is much slower now. First of all any ideas on why in my case it is doing this and second of all, since it feels better performance wise, is this damaging anything? It doesnt seem to show any knock...etc.

i think the bleed valve is the problem w/the spike b/c it is bleeding the boost off so much the WG doesnt see 17 psi till youre actually @ 22 psi. the lag w/just the WG might be b/c the closer you get to the set limit the more the WG starts to open and bleed off exhaust and increase spool up time and finally is fully open @ 17 psi. some people say a in car controller is more accurate. i have a ball and spring design controller i got off ebay and it hold boost very accurately but i cant seem to get it to the boost level i want. it only spikes a pound if any. they are around $20 on ebay. and there are other sites that sell them like www.joepmbc.com and www.hallmanboostcontroller.com and www.boostvalve.com and www.boostcontroller.com .
