Got the GN out today in this beautiful Wisconsin weather.
Ok so when I put my GN away I was having problems with it. I had just got done with the whole V2 swap over. I think some of you guys remember my probs.
So anyways the car is at about 33# of fuel with line off. Should be at around 40# to 43#. And today when I was driving it, I could smell some gas. I am thinking it was my car. I know it is still to rich because of the black **** it is spitting out the tailpipes when I rev it in park. BUT, is this because my boost is only hitting 5lbs?? The fuel should go up with the boost. I forgot to watch my fuel pressure gauge.........doh!! When I put the car away I had it running at 10lbs of boost. I believe the exhaust housing is leaking around the puck area. THAT WILL DO IT, I KNOW, I KNOW. Should I tackle my boost problems first then worry about the fuel situation????????I have had no knock what so ever since the whole swap over. Just way to much fuel and not enough boost.
Here is a stupid question = if the boost gauge senses the boost from the intake charge is there anyway to tell from your boost gauge that you have a bad headgasket?? A headgasket could cause the low boost level right? So since the boost gauge reads the boost before the charged air reaches the cyclinders then the boost gauge would not tell you if you have a headgasket problem??? I NOT SURE IF I AM GETTING MY IDEA ACROSS HERE. I dont think I have a headgasket problem but I just wanted clear this boost gauge **** up...........it is messing with my head. Oil is good as is the anitfreeze. I dont smell antifreeze through the exhaust or anything................just fuel......LOL. I think I am just getting worried over nothing. I think my problem is with that exhaust housing and possibly some of the turbo bolts are not tight enough......who knows. I just plan on pulling the turbo off and going over it bolt by bolt.
What could cause my problem of to much fuel?? Chip? Injector harness? Injector(s)? ECM?
Thanks much guys, Nick
