BOV placement ?

I know where most people mount it. What I need to know is will it hurt if I mount it farther from the throttlebody and closer to the intercooler. I'm wanting to do this for two reasons. First is the alky, I want it as far upstream as I can get it. Second and this is the big one, the smog nazis here in CA will fail you for anything. I need to hide the valve which will mean placing it closer to the intercooler. Will this hurt the performance of the valve?

I run an HKS valve on my black car. Mine is mounted around 2 feet from the tb and hasn't seemed to affect it's response....
