I have a 1984 Buick T Type, and I dont have power at the purple wire coming off of the ignition switch (with the key in the start position) which goes to the starter, small post with momentary start. I tested the ignition switch and it was good, but I bought another one anyway and installed it. I tested the P/N safety switch, it has continuity, so its fine. Ive tried everything, and I still dont have power to the keyed switch on. the starter is good because i tried the small wire to a 12v and it turned over. My trunk sticker does not say I have a anti theft system, but I have a purple wire in a different spot, that goes to a puple with white stripe wire via a connector. Anyone know why i dont have power at the purple wire?

diagram is from 87 manual but things really didnt change for starter circuit from 84 except for the fuse links for fan
check ign switch for power from the fusible link to b2 and then when cranking should have power at pin S
also check wires and see if the wire terminal is burned up in the connector
make sure the ign switch is installed properly using the alignment pin so that it engages the crank contacts.
