i have a 87 gn 4.1 production block pt52 60lbs injector extentder chip translator plus. well after 10 miles of driving engine starts to miss so half way back check engine light comes on.code 41 cam sensor error. now if you shut the engine off it will not restart for 2 or more hours. with orange ecm wire pluged in or not. i also have an 87 gn 6000 miles car runs perfect. i have swapped out ecm coils and module. replaced cam sensor with one of caspers units. caspers also made me a cam and crank sensor connectors, module connector full length wire to stock connectors with ends fit very nice. still the same thing? i have been fighting this problem for 3 years. someone said maybe ignition switch could be bad? thanks for any help Brandon

The solution to this problem could be one of many many things. You will have to be methodical and check/change one thing at a time a log on paper what you did. Patience is the key to troubleshooting.

An example: After many countless hours and many $$ later fighting a miss/sputter the problem was found. A nick in one of the wires going into the coil/ign module connector was grounding out. Didnt happen all the time , just some of the time. Thats why it was hard to find. It is probably something simple. You will get it.

I can tell you this with absolute certanity: It will be the last thing you check. ;)

this may not be same of course but if you have that adjustable with diode type cam sensor from Casper I had two of them bad , one out of the box did not work ,they send me new one which worked for a week and car started to stamble  ,now I got $65 CarQuest cam sensor and no problems ,also check/clean ignition madule connector with conntact cleaner.

Thanks Guys

Yes I Changed Computer And Also Tried An Other Chip. I Dis Assmbled The Wire Harnsses And Replaced All Wires And Connectors For Igintion Module, cam Sensor Crank Sensor And All Pins That Go In To Ecm And Dash Bulk Head. John At Caspers Said Maybe The Ignition Switch(havent Checked Yet)
