I carelessly got a few small drops on my original paint and quickly put water on them but I still have white spots in the paint. Can I use fine sand paper on the area or is there another procedure to try?

Try
www.autopia.org for suggestions.
I would try maybe meguiar's scratch remover or polish, but mI would not use sandpaper, even fine sandpaper. It is probably into the paint enough that it will nor come out but you can probably improve it somewhat or enough to live with.

Thanks Gary. I have already polished it and it does look better but not like I want it to. :( I will check the website you linked.

Meguiar's has some excellent do it yourself for both hand and orbital for most of their products. I know that they have a very good one for what you are trying to do (polish by hand).

Thanks again...those are great articles. I will probably get some Scratch X and see how it does by hand.

Tried the Scratch X and it didn't help much. :( Brake fluid got too deep into the paint.

Be patient. I got a coupla drops on my wife's fender, freaked me out. A few months later it shrunk away. Just stay off the area for awhile.

Thanks for the positive reinforcement. Nothing else I can do so I will just wait and see. :)
