Brake Grease

What are you using for Caliper Brake grease on the slide pins? There seem to be many different opinions out there.

When in doubt just use the silicone brake grease in the tiny package. It has a high melting point so it doesn't drip off when the brakes are screaming hot. On a bench test I found lithium grease melts easily, you don't want that.

Was going to use this http://www.amazon.com/CRC-Brake-Caliper-Synthetic-Grease/dp/B000M8IF1Q. Some are saying it will destroy the rubber boots and orings on the slide pins. Also it dries up causing the caliper to seize on the pin.

The stock guides use NO grease on them because they're exposed to the weather. Grease will attract dirt causing the guide sleeves to lock up or wear and need replacing. That's how GM designed them.

I've always lubed the o-rings in the caliper with antisieze lube/AKA = silver death. Also, lube the contact area where the caliper and spindle touch. Obviously you should clean these areas first.
