Broken Shifter

Hi All,

I was driving the 83 T-Type the other day and the Shifter "T" handle broke seems the previous owner glued it once. No big deal I have ordered a new one but there is one problem. The small piece of plastic that sticks out of the shaft is broken also. Now the questions....I'm guessing I have to take the shifter apart to replace this piece and are the parts still available or do I need to go search the bone yards????

Try looking in a Cutlass Salon as these are much more common in the yards that the Buicks. They used the same identical shifters and many other common console related parts. If you happen to find one from a car with a 3 speed auto, you can simply unbolt the shifter gate and install it on the replacement shifter.
