I am swapping a GN rear with 3.42 gears into my father's Monte within the next few weeks as we progress with the turbo 6 conversion. The original rear had 3.73's.
You told me some months back that the stock Monte trans would be good to use with the minor upgrades you told me to do to it.
That is leaving the Monte valve body in there. Now my question is how do I lower the shift points AND make the speedometer read correctly? I have several BRF governors laying around. Could I just use one of them to correct the shift points and speedo or will I have problems?

Leave EVERYTHING alone except change the gear from green 10 tooth to 11 tooth orange. Then the driven gear should be 30 tooth or blue. All are very readily available.

Lower?
You shouldn't need to. If so needed , through big or "primary" weight you would add weight to.

cool! I will have to call you at the shop this week as I need some other odds and ends. Thanks man!
