During my work tour, I'm sometimes on Rt.23 in Wayne. There is a shop called "Stage 1" right on Rt23S. I always see GNs parked out front. Does anyone know about these guys?

yea, had them work on my car a few years ago. a bit pricey, and there crooks. there are better people out there. do a search on these guys.

Thanks, I've been trying to figure out why my car idles rough and stalls. It seems like Iv'e tried everything and figured I would have someone look at it but I don't want to spend a fortune. Did a search on these 'stage 1' guys and didn't come up with much. It doesn't seem like too many people on the board know about them. Does anyone know of a place I can take my car in the N.E.?

I don't know much about them. But lets put it this way. When I got my TTA I didn't know a whole lot yet but I knew the car was acting not as it should. For one, boost would NOT go above 16lbs. After I went through it, doing nothing but replacing vacuum line connections and the plenum gasket and a couple other loose ends. After that I instantly without touching a thing saw 20lbs.

Come to find out after taking apart a bunch of things down to the plenum that there was alot of crap work done. I went through all of the things I got when I bought the car and had some Stage 1 receipts. The work they performed on the car indicates they as well would have had to take apart, down to the plenum on the car. And all of the screw ups that happened would have happened while reassembling.

I discovered many vacuum line connectors that were way too big to fit over the metal lines securely, causing them to come right off under boost. Also when I took apart the plenum someone had NOT scraped all of the old gasket off, looked like they just pulled off the old one and left what was left, and then just slapped a new one over it. Creating one hell of a bad seal i'm sure. Also one of the screws was not tight when I went to remove it. Great. Also some other screw ups I can't quite remember right now but after just fixing these screw ups the car was running beautiful.

I'm not saying I know for certain they did the work. So this post is not to say, stay away they do crap work! Because I don't know for certain. But those are the facts I know. You can form your own opinion. I've got mine. ;)

I know there's a few shops in within an hour of the NJ/PA border on the PA side, but I don't know any of them by name. Two that come to mind in central NJ that deal with TRs are Ron's Custom Auto inn Kennelworth, and Dynotech in Manville. I have delt with both shops and have no complaints about either one.

DYNOTECH

I've dealt with Dynotech ever since I bought my GN new, and have nothing but good words for them!... Got good advice and service from Fred Vetter back when he founded Dynotech, and now Eric Shertz has helped me a lot and I'm very happy with his work, and would recommend him to my friends GN owners anytime!! He also runs Hi-Pro transmissions and builds the most bullet-proof transmissions on the east coast for sure!!
