Wondering dose anyone know how to tell what the build date is if the door sticker is gone Iv always wondered what mine was but the door sticker has been gone since iv owned it

Sometimes you can find the build sheet behind the rear seat.

Iv looked behind and under both front and rear seats above the headliner

Mine was behind the left door panel.

Look near the drivers side windshield wiper and find the painted cowl tag and post up the letters and numbers.

That narrows down when it was built.

Some of numbers were hard to read but this is what I got

Looks like you're missing a digit. The characters in the upper left are what you're after and what you should see is "H##E". The ## is a two-digit number representing the month; ie. 01-January, 02-February, etc. The "E" represents what week of the month. In your case, the 5th week. My tag says H05C; May, 3rd week. This is the time that the body was built which will be very close to your vehicle assembly date.

I think they all had a sheet in the drivers door. I found an old thread that shows where to find the date on the frame above the rear axle on the passenger side. It will be an older date than on the build sheet. Scroll to the bottom of page 2 and there is a pic of a frame off the car, the location of the date is circled.

This! X2 I also found mine in driver door replacing the dew sweeps. Sometimes they are behind the rear seat, but most often the driver door.

I found one on top of the fuel tank, above the headliner, under rear seat etc. All different cars of course.

Yup taped right inside the door panel.

Build date 10/08/87. Can't believe it was still there and the previous owner didnt take it out.

Just found mine under the rear seat in the seat springs. It's tattered, but can see some codes. It's an 86 GN.

Then it shows the VIN. Everything to the right of the ...TF and above the "Color:GRY" is missing. I don't see anything resembling the build date.

Checked the cowl tag and it shows 156517. Is that the line number? If so, why is it one number different from the line number on the build sheet? The upper left code shows G06B. Then 4GJ47 small P 19L 19U LACQUER A2C AR9 W11

The right sheet did not always get put with the right car. Some cars got no sheets and others may have recieved two mismatched sheets.
